This is our classroom wiki about Math!! We will be sharing our problems, ideas, and questions about math on our wiki. Our purpose is to inform ourselves and our parents about how we think about math. It is a helpful resource for ideas, strategies, and examples from our math lessons.

Classroom Reflections about Math Makes Sense

As a class, we shared our thoughts about the new math program. Our teachers recorded our ideas for us. Click on the link below to the page with our ideas.

• I think the new Math program is great because it makes you think and you can also find different ways to find the answer. I'm also working on explaining on how I got the answer. But still I like mental math and there is not much mental math in this program. Julian
• I think that the new math program can get very confusing because of the way they word their problems. Brianna
• The new Math Problem is harder to correct because there are a lot of different ways to figure out a problem. I like it because if you aren't good at one strategy you can use a different strategy to figure it out! Nicole!
• The new Math Program is very hard because you need to explain how you got the answer and you have to times and divide a lot of the time. And I'm very good at dividing. Also mental math is very hard for me. Chris.
• I think the new math program is way better than the old one because you can learn more about fractions or decimals. I also like it because it makes you think more about the question!!!!!!!! Michael
• I think that the math problems are hard because there are a lot of questions that you have do lots of parts for. It is also hard because I am learning a bunch of new stuff, and it takes a while to catch on to it.Matthew!!!!!
• I think the new math program is helpful because unlike the old math program the new one has harder questions that make you think. Kenaniah
• I think the new math program (Math Makes Sense) makes you think a lot, as the old math program (Math Quest) had an answer for each question and this one makes you think more to get the answer. I also think it has a lot of parts to the question. (E.g.: 2. a), b), c), d), e), --> -->) Sometimes they have so many parts to a problem or question tha tit gets confusing. -- Lucas.
• The new math program is easy most of the time because there are less questions and more parts to it and there are real life problems. It really gets me thinking about the problems. - Katie!!!
• The new math program was a blast! We had a awesome time during the math program. We had a pizza party with fractions and measurment. The new program helps get your brain ready for the big adventure. It has the explore part which gets your brain ready for connect and practice. The program is AWESOME!!! Chan
• The new math program is a fun hard working program that requires a developed brain and a lot of smarts. On the new math program there are usually 6-12 questions and they all require a good thinking brain. In the new math program you have to use manipulatives for some of the harder questions. I really like that because I am a kinesthetic learner and that means I like to use manipulatives and use phisical movement to solve the problem. Mrs. Rudderham lets us go with a partner to solve the questions on the page. I love to work with a partner to solve the problem because you get to hear how they solve the problem too. On hard questions Mrs.Rudderham lets people go up to the board to show how they got their answer. Rhys :)
• I think the new math program will help you figure out real life problems. I think the new math program is really neat because there might be less questions but they make you think a lot. Brandon
• I think thw new math program rocks! I like the explore part of the math because whenever we do it, we get to do it with a friend or partner at your pod and then we get to share them on the board. That is my favourite part because if we make a mistake the whole class gets to correct you. There is also different ways to figure out a problem with the new math program, it is neat to see the different ways that people figure it out!--Celine:)
• I think that this new math program is great because we get to work with partners, not just by ourselves. I also like this program because the questions make you think harder and there is more than one part to each question. Bridget=}
• I think that the new math program makes you think a lot because you have to use your brain all time. Some of the problems are hard and some are easy, but they all make you think a lot about what you are doing with the problem!!!! - Claire

• This new math program is pretty good but it hardly has any questions. There is a connect part that will help you and if you are having trouble, you can ask a partner to help you too. You can solve the problem in many different ways. Cory+=
• I like the new math program because there is more than one way to solve the answer and in the old text book there was only one way to solve the question. The new program helps me a lot because I can feel confident by knowing that I'm not the only one with a different way of doing it. We had a pizza fraction day,and we did stations. Yum!!!! StEvEn(+@)
