1. Brainstorm
I like to use the strategy brainstorming because then you do not just have one idea you have lots of ideas to use so that you get to choose the one you want. It also gets you to use to use different things so that you do not use the same idea everytime.
Claire
2. Use or look for a pattern
3. Guess and check
I like the strategy guess and check because when you guess the answer, you get closer and closer to the correct answer. When you get to the answer, it's a celebration. Problem solving is a complicating subject, it's not always about the right answer but the process, but it's fun when you get the correct answer!
Chan.
I like the strategy guess and check because you can guess the answer and than check as you go in the question and than at the end you will get your final answer! The problem solving that our class is doing is complicated, so it is easy if you take it slow and guess and check every time you write something because if you miss a step or get a part wrong, the whole question is wrong.
Cory
I like the stratagy guess and check because you take a wild guess and then you check it. If you're wrong like almost all the time (for me) you're closer to the answer so it's really easy for me.
Brandon
I like this strategy because it may take a long time, but it is awesome when you get the answer. It is also a sweet strategy because it can help you when you do a question like 5556383+53487464 because you could just round, then do the whole question.
Julian

5. Make an organized list
This is my favourite strategy because it is easy to follow. I also like this strategy because it doesn't envolve much explaining to do. This is also my favourite because you can easily come back to it after that work period and carry on working.
Nicole
I like to make an orginized list because I don't want my work all messy when I go back, and I want to understand it too. I also like to be neat when other people are correcting my book. I want them to understand what I wrote down. I also want to have a clean workspace.

Bridget
6. Use logical reasoning
I like this strategy because it makes the problem a bit easier but if you get one thing in the question wrong your whole question will be wrong. So when you are using the Logical Reasoning strategy you have to think about what you are doing but foresure after you have done three or four of these questions it will become a lot easier. Also, some of these questions relate to real life situations so you have to think about what you would do in real life to logically solve the problem you are working on.
Rhys!!!!! :)

I like this strategy because I love organizing things and a making a table is perfect for organizing. I also love this strategy because when I do it in problem solving, I can easily understand it. Some of the other strategies are a little bit harder for me because I barely ever use them in daily life.
